Peak Tree Works is a private tree company seeking skilled and qualified candidates for the position of Climbing Arborist - This position performs standard level pruning, removals, and planting. Advanced climbing and heavy equipment operations experience are not required. Chainsaw experience and knot/rope work preferred. Be able to work long hours in adverse conditions. Above all have a drive to work hard and willingness to learn and grow with our company is a must!

Peak Tree Works maintains privately owned properties throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. Most of the duties performed by this position focus on pruning and removing everything from small shrubs to medium and large trees.  We are in 
the risk assessment/management business, lessening the risk of trees that could pose hazardous to clients properties, while managing healthy grown trees through pruning and plant health care. Planting new trees and shrubs is a large part of our growing business. Above all we strive to please our customers, focusing on the fine details of their needs while providing a healthy safe work environment.

The schedule for this opportunity will be M-F 7-5PM with flexibility to work some weekends based on need.

The location of work will be: Aspen, CO to Glenwood Springs, CO

ABOUT OUR JOB

Climbing Arborist- Tree Trimmers performs standard level duties in the field to include all aspects of arboriculture and general forestry work to support the best interest of Peak Tree Works. This includes tree pruning, planting, transplanting, tree removal, and knowledge in insect/disease identification. This position is under normal supervision and reports to a foreman and or owner/operator. 

Prunes dead, diseased, or broken branches in trees utilizing rope and saddle, chain/hand saw and other related equipment involved in large tree care (in excess of 70’) and small tree maintenance. Inspects and identifies tree diseases and insects of the area distinguishing between biotic and abiotic stresses.  Operates a wide variety of heavy and power equipment in pruning and removing trees and shrubbery, including a bucket truck, trucks with trailers, skid loaders, stump grinders and chippers. Ensures proper preparation and application of insecticides/fertilizers with high velocity application equipment. 

Places and removes barricade, cones, and other traffic control and safety devices in and around work area; may act as a traffic safety flagger. Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports, and may perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

ABOUT YOU

Licensure Requirement: 
Possession of a valid Colorado “Class R” Driver’s License at the time of application.
Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) “B” or “A” not required but prefered. Licensure must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
Certifications:
Any International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist, Certified Arborist or Aerial Lift Specialist certification not required but generally preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of a Certified Operator pesticide applicator's license.
Chainsaw experience 
Rope/knot and saddle experience
Fluent in English is required

Compensation Range: $15.00 - $30.00 Hourly
Hiring Range:  $15.00 - $25 Hourly (experenice based)

Background Check / Drug Testing:  Candidates must pass a background check, 5 year employment verification. Drug testing is not a requirement but will be administered in the case of bodily injury or equipment accidents.

Probationary Period: The successful candidate will be required to complete a minimum 2 week probationary period prior to attaining full time employment with Peak Tree Works.
